Gedurende 63 dagen vochten zij voor de bevrijding van hun hoofdstad. De Opstand van Warschau is een van de grootste en meest tragische stadsgevechten van de Tweede Wereldoorlog.<\/p>\n<p>Op 23 mei verwelkomt het Airborne Museum Hartenstein&nbsp;<span data-olk-copy-source=\"MessageBody\">Pawe\u0142 Ukielski<\/span>&nbsp;van het Warsaw Rising Museum (Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego) in Warschau. In een boeiende lezing neemt hij je mee in het verhaal van de Opstand: de aanloop, de strijd, de offers en de nalatenschap die tot op de dag van vandaag voelbaar is in Polen.<\/p>\n<p>Pawe\u0142 Ukielski is historicus, politicoloog en adjunct-directeur van het Warsaw Rising Museum in Warschau(2004-2014 en sinds 2016), een van de meest indrukwekkende herinneringsmusea van Europa. Hij is expert op het gebied van de Tweede Wereldoorlog en de Poolse strijd voor vrijheid. Daarnaast is hij hoofd van de afdeling Centraal- en Oost-Europa en Post-Sovjetonderzoek aan het Instituut voor Politieke Studies van de Poolse Academie van Wetenschappen. Van 2014 tot 2016 was hij vicevoorzitter van het Instituut voor Nationale Herinnering, van 2011 tot 2017 en sinds 2021 lid van het uitvoerend bestuur van het Platform voor Europese Herinnering en Geweten (PEMC), en van 2019 tot 2021 voorzitter van de Raad van Toezicht van PEMC.
